Recently, while going though my Studio’s archives, I came across a portrait of a soldier in a WWI Australian Army uniform. This portrait was initially brought to us for photo restoration about 30 years ago at our Merryland’s studio. The client that brought it in has made no contact with the studio since nor have we had any enquiries about this particular portrait.
As ANZAC day approaches and the nation reflects on the many thousands of soldiers that have shaped our country’s history, I find myself reflecting on the face of this Unknown Soldier and his story. He has a family living in a local suburb. He is someone’s son, brother, father, or grandfather and we would like to see him reunited with his family.
Ray Schembri said,”If this was my Grandfather’s portrait it would be priceless in our family and I would do anything to get it!”. Can you help me find his family ?
